Here we go! Taking a stroll through a place the will remind us of the river reptile a place known as Lamanai. This site is located along the banks of the stunning New River Lagoon clearly seen when crossing the Tower Hill Bridge in the Orange Walk district. Lamanai is the Mayan word for "Submerged Crocodile". A major attractions of this site is the well-preserved stela of a Mayan ruler emerging from a crocodile headdress. For nature lovers a spectacular adventurous way to travel to the site is through the lagoon by mean of boat numerous species of water birds and reptiles live along the river and lagoon. Also interesting flora and fauna to be seen at the Lamanai reserve.
